Frequently Asked Questions
How do I sign up?
All booking goes through a site called JaneApp. Once you arrive at JaneApp:
Select the program that you are interested in and you will be directed to the calendar.
Once at the calendar, you can click on sessions that you would like to sign your child up for.
You will be prompted to create a profile for your child.
You will be prompted to provide a credit card to store on file as well as to fill out necessary intake forms and consent forms. You must fill out all the forms on JaneApp before your child’s first session.
How do I purchase a punch pass?
To purchase a punch pass, please create a profile for your child in the JaneApp and then email our admin team at wildthingsforest@gmail.com. They will attach a punch pass to your child’s profile and send you a bill.
Your punch pass will automatically use punches instead of charging you the drop in fee. Punch Passes must be paid in full in order to be activated. You can pay with your credit card on file or send an e-transfer.
Can multiple kids share a punch pass?
Unfortunately, at this time, only one child can be attached to a punch pass. We offer 5 time and 10 time passes which both provide great savings!
When do the punch passes expire?
Punch passes expire after 1 year.
Are you a childcare facility?
Wild Things Forest is NOT a childcare facility. We are a nature-based enhancement programming facility. Think of us an extra-curricular opportunity for your child like ski lessons, gymnastics, or soccer. We are nature and connection lessons!
What is your cancelation policy?
You are welcome to cancel your child’s session up to 24 hours before it starts. This gives us enough time to let someone from the waitlist take their spot. If you cancel under 24 hours before their session, you will be charged in full for the session.
How far in advance do I have to sign up?
We encourage you to sign up early to guarantee your child has a spot. However, you are able to sign up anytime as long as there is space in the class.
Are parents allowed to stay for programming?
While we encourage independence and resilience, we understand that each child and parent has different needs and levels of comfort. Parents are very much welcome to stay for part or all of the sessions to support their own child. Parents might just find themselves getting dirty and having way too much fun to want to leave!
Can you provide report card comments for my child?
If your child is a student registered in a public school or home learning program, we are able to provide report card contributions (at an additional fee) if they are a regular participant. Please inquire directly for more information.
Is there First Aid onsite?
Yes. All of our facilitators have First Aid/CPR certifications. Each facilitator is equipped with a First Aid Kit and there is also one in the dome.
Are you licensed?
Wild Things Forest is not licensed. We are insured, First Aid certified, and follow safety procedures and protocols in alignment with the standards from the Child and Nature Alliance of Canada. Our employees and volunteers have all received Criminal Record Checks. We are certified educators, forest school practitioners, and or have extensive experience working with kids.
Do I need to send my child with a snack or lunch?
You will need to send your child with a snack for the Half Day program and lunch and snack for the full day program. For more info on what to send with your child, please visit the “Parent Hub” section.
